The Seiko SLP 450 Label Printer is SLP 440's big brother; with double the print speed for the serious labeller. With 300 dpi resolution, print sharp text, detailed graphics and accurate barcodes on labels up to 2 1/8 inch wide. This top of the line model is easy to use and install and prints labels in a variety of sizes, materials and colors for only pennies per label.

4 stars Stylish high quality printer with slightly iffy software Written by Charles Wilson

I LOVE the printer! Small, compact, stylish, and very quick at printing. Setting the software up was a bit of a trial. I bought my laptop in Taiwan, and although its running in English the printer software decided it was going to run in Chinese characters. The help desk were very efficient, and one phone call solved that problem. However, I still have a problem with the smart capture software which interfaces with MS Office. This is still in Chinese, and I haven't had time to go back to the help desk yet, so I don't know if its fixable. The rest of the software is a bit primitive, though reasonably effective. This may well just be me getting to grips with it. My first job was to bash out 1000 labels for labelling up a batch of recently shipped in product. Absolutely no problem. Done in 30 mins once the printer was set up. In summary, I wish I had got a separate label printer years ago. They are just so much easier to use than the dreaded A4 sheets through the laser printer. With the limitations expressed above on software, this one is just great.

Hi, Can I set this printer as the "default printer" in Win7, so I can do templates in MS Office and print them out using the printer?

Yes, you should be able to set this as the default printer the same as a typical inkjet to laser. 

Can the printer print logos or photographs on the labels?

Yes, the Seiko SLP-450 can print logos, graphics and photos in black and white, please note that the print resolution is 300dpi therefore the reproduction quality of a photo would not be as good as a laser or inkjet printer.
