  4. How To Update DYMO XTL 300 Firmware

If you are experiencing issues with the DYMO XTL 300 machine not recognizing tapes, it may be that your machine needs a firmware update.

The first thing that DYMO recommend when your XTL 300 machine doesn't recognize the tape cartridges is to update the firmware. Below you is a step by step guide on how to do it from DYMO:

Update the XTL 300 firmware through DYMO ID:

    1. Connect the printer to your computer.
A message screen should appear stating that a software update is available.
    2. Follow the instructions in the update screen to update the software.

If the software update screen does not appear after connecting the label maker:

    1. From the DYMO ID menu, select About > Label makers and select your label maker.
    2. Select Update

  7. Dymo XTL Label Durability

The Dymo XTL printer is still rather new so I was curious as to how the labels will hold up in fairly rough conditions. What better location to test the durability of a label than the floor in a couple of doorways in our busy warehouse. The last two months have given the UK hot, cold, humid, and wet weather. As much as the sunshine and rain didn't directly hit these labels, I'm sure some hot coffee was spilt on, and a few grubby shoes scuffed over them. As you can see from the photos, the labels were date stamped and stuck down in busy areas. As I start to write this post and take new photos, it is some 60 days later. That means 42 8 hour work days (or 336 hours) of people walking, and trolleys rolling over them. So let's have a look at how they held up.

  8. Sandown Elex Show 2015

The Sandown Elex Show is always the premier event of the year. Its location takes in a huge catchment area and this was evident on both days with the Sandown Park car parks hitting capacity by late morning both days. Arriving at the main entrance the queues were moving fast and there was definitely a lively atmosphere about the place, something which most trade shows sadly lack these days. Elex seems to have captured the imagination of the UK's electricians with all the shows around the UK being well attended but Sandown is the big one!

This year saw Dymo launching their new XTL range
