More features than my old one , and more choice with the size of labels , an all round good buy . Would definately recommend

We are very pleased with our PT-1010 labeller. We wanted to clearly label home office files, leftovers for the freezer, electrical plugs, garage selves and drawers etc and it has performed extremely well. There is a little waste on either end of the tape, but hey for £10 it's not that much of an issue.

Bought this as a mobile counterpart to the PT-2430. It's much more limited, but plenty good enough for simple text/number labels and at the price it's an absolute steal. I found it to be a little difficult to get the margins right so far, but maybe that will improve when I look at the instructions.

I have been using Brother P-Touch printers for years and this cannot be beaten for price and quality. My main problem with them is the cost of the replacement tapes which seem to be a licence for Brother to print money! Same applies to inks for printers. Having said that, there's not much competition and if you want a high quality label then you can't do any better than one of these. Just make sure you adjust the margins, otherwise you end up with a load of white space either side of the label (I guess Brother's way of making sure you use up your tape quicker!)

The PT100 came as part of a special offer when I also bought the QL560. I have to say that since receiving it my wife has hardly stopped using it to label all of her food jars and has just embarked on producing labels for the plants in the garden. I might have to but another as she has taken over ownership for herself. Buy one you won't regret it.

i got this one as the incentive bonus on a ql560, as with the other PT's i have this must now confine them to the bottom draw. full access to letters without the txt type selection (press button 3 times to get 'C' etc. if this performs as good as the previous models I will be more than happy.

Brother's little hand-held labeller is a revelation! Easy to operate, light in the hand, and giving a clear and smudge-free print, it has certainly made a great improvement to storage in the house from the garage right through to the kitchen. Different fonts and print sizes cater for every taste and occasion. If there is one minor flaw, it is that the end of the backing tape is sometimes difficult to locate, but this is not a serious issue and does not detract from the conclusion that this is a very well thought-out and cleverly designed package. 13th Jun, 2012

Bought mainly as a garden labeler and because the TZ labels are fade and water resistant. Easy to use with decent instructions, always something of a novelty these days, means you can be up & running in minutes, producing the labels you want. I have used lots of label printers and always liked the Brother range. I wanted a new machine but did not want to pay the earth. The Brother PT-1010 has all the options I need at a very good price and takes the laminated TZ taped which are ideal for use in my trade as they are harder waring than non laminated tapes. I like this so much I have two.

Will this printer do white writing on black tape ?

The Brother P-Touch 1010 prints on 6, 9 and 12mm TZ Tape.  Brother do a 12mm White on Black TZ-335.

How much text can be put on one label?

When using the Brother P-Touch 1010 printer you can put one line of text onto the 6mm & 9mm tape and up to 2 lines on the 12mm tape.

What is the difference between this and the GL200 as they look the same ?

The GL-200 is supplied with an 8 meter tape whereas the PT-1010 has a 4 meter tape in the box, other than the actual colour of the printer (ie the GL-200 is green) the two printers are identical.
