The Zebra GK420d direct thermal label printer is probably the UK’s best selling label printer. The incredibly simple clamshell design allows the quick change of labels, plus a slot at the rear of the printer allows the use of fanfold tags or labels. There is no printer ribbon, no ink or any other consumable other than the labels.
This model has USB and serial connectivity and is supplied with the basic Zebra Designer labelling software and Windows drivers so printing from most Windows applications is very easy. As this model is extensively used for printing shipping and courier labels, it has become the label printer of choice for printing Royal Mail DMO labels. In fact this model is recommended by Royal Mail. The GK420d can take a range of labels including the standard 150mm x 100mm courier labels and labels supplied by Royal Mail and Parcelforce.
Despite its low cost the Zebra GK2420d label printer is surprisingly robust, our own warehouse uses several and they have performed day in day out with nothing more than an occasional clean of the printhead. The label print speed is excellent and the clarity of print on barcodes is excellent ensuring that the tracking of stock and parcels is never a problem.
